LOOPING PARAMETERS

With Ultima, seamless animation is taken to the next level thanks to our expanded looping parameters.

Whether you're creating mesmerizing VJ visuals or smooth animations for your game or film, these new controls give you precise timing and fluid transitions between fractal states.

Paired with the power of real-time fractal customization in the Unreal Engine sequencer, you can now create continuous animations with ease, ensuring a flawless experience every time.

15 EXAMPLE MAPS

Ultima comes equipped with 15 meticulously crafted example maps, each showcasing the vast potential of real-time fractals in Unreal Engine.

These maps provide an inspiring starting point, whether you're exploring surreal environments, or worlds that feel like they belong in another dimension.

Each map is designed to highlight different moods and artistic styles, from vibrant, colorful fractals to intricate, crystalline structures.

Lumen support

With Lumen support and fully customizable parameters, you can quickly adapt each map to suit your needs and bring your ideas to life.

Whether you're looking to create stunning cinematic shots, explore experimental art, or develop unique game environments, these maps serve as a perfect launchpad for your creative vision.

EXPERIENCE HIGH FIDELITY

Ultima includes features that enhance visual output through dynamic texturing and unique emission effects.
Texturing based on iteration number and Orbit trap.
Ultima also have looping parameters, perfect for VJ’s creating loops and stunning visuals for their stage shows.
VR is supported on capable hardware for a fully immersive experience.

Machina Fractals: Ultima, opens up a world of limitless possibilities for real-time 3D fractal exploration and rendering.

More features

Ultima includes over 100 textures, especially designed for fractals.

Some with adjustable Metallic, Roughness, Specular, and Emission settings.

The Macro Variation setting allows for seamless dirt textures, getting rid of possible seams.

These textures can be applied based on the Slope angle, Orbit trap settings from the fractal, or RGB colors.

Machina Fractals: Ultima opens up a world of limitless possibilities for real-time 3D fractal exploration and rendering.

The project file includes:
7 Fractal formulas optimized for real time rendering.
Kaleidoscopic post process material.
15 example levels ready to be tweaked and animated.

we recommend at least 8GB of video memory for a smooth real-time experience in most scenes.

QUICK TIPS

INSTALLATION

Import Ultima into your existing project.
Open Unreal Launcher, go in your “Vault“, find “Machina Fractals : Ultima“ and click “Add to project“.
You can now open your UE5 project.
You will find a new folder called “MI_Ultima“ with some subfolders in it.

‘Blueprints’ contains all BPs which you can just drag and drop into the viewer, and off you go!

‘Maps’ contains all example levels.

‘Materials’ has all materials and instances which can be applied to static meshes (plane).

‘Textures’ contains PBR textures and images designed for fractals.

!!! IMPORTANT !!!

Make sure to set "Output velocities" to OFF in your unreal project settings for correct rendering!

FAQ

1. There's a flickering noise, how do I remove it?

  • This is a known issue in Unreal Engine that occurs randomly. The best fix is to adjust the ray epsilon or step in the Fractal blueprint render settings (a slight change can refresh it). After making these changes, build the light. Additionally, ensure that Output Velocities due to Vertex Deformation' to OFF.

2. What GPU do I need for this?

  • We recommend using an RTX 2080 Ti or faster for optimal performance.

3. Shadows on the fractals are behaving strangely, how can I fix this?

  • Ensure that every light source affecting the fractal has contact shadow enabled. Adjust the contact shadow value to around 0.5, and tweak it to achieve the desired effect.

4. My GPU is overheating and my frame rate is too slow, how can I improve this?

  • Check out our Performance tutorial here for tips on optimizing performance.

5. The fractal is clipping into the camera, how do I fix this?

  • Decrease the clipping plane in project settings (typically set to 0.5) and experiment to find the best value. Note that this change requires an engine restart.

6. There's no detail anymore when I zoom into the fractal, what should I do?

  • Increase the iteration number and decrease the epsilon in the Fractal render settings to restore detail.

7. Does it work with VR?

  • Yes, Ultima is compatible with VR on capable hardware.

8. Is it possible to enable collisions on Fractals ?
